Erica was an ECE PhD student studying the MBE growth and properties of new rare-earth/group-V compounds, including LaAs, LuAs, and LaxLu1-xAs, as well as the applications of these materials to plasmonics, buried transparent contacts, and metamorphic buffer layers. She is now a technical specialist / patent agent with Fish & Richardson, an intellectual property law firm.
